Years ago, when my hubby was just my boyfriend I took a road trip from Indiana to Maryland with his family. I had just met his parents and grandmas the day before we all piled in a minivan for a long drive. I really don't remember too much from the trip, except it took 16 hours and I loved the pepperoni rolls his mom made.
I had never eaten pepperoni rolls before, never heard of them either. But, since then I have fallen in love with these yummy little rolls. They only take about 5 minutes to make and about 10 minutes in the oven. Now when we travel with our family these are always with us.
These West Virginia pepperoni rolls are so easy to make and they are fantastic to travel with too. Just wait for them to cool and place them in a ziploc bag. It's a yummy way to get some protein on a trip.
You will need two cans of biscuits, a block of cheese and some pepperoni.
Start by slicing the block of cheese into 20 pieces. I cut it in half and then into slices so they easily tuck into the biscuit.
Flatten your biscuit slightly and stack 2 pepperoni slices, a slice of cheese, and two more slices of pepperoni on the biscuit.
Wrap the biscuit around the pepperoni and cheese on all sides until it is covered. Then place it folded side down in a buttered dish.
Once you place all the rolls in a dish, set the dish aside. Mix up one egg white with two tablespoons water. Brush the egg white mixture over the rolls and sprinkle with Italian seasoning and salt.
Pop them in the oven for the temperature and time on your biscuit packaging. Mine go in at 425 degrees for 10 minutes.
When they are golden brown on top you can pull them from the oven. Let them cool for a few minutes and serve. Our favorite way to eat them is cold out of the fridge.
Whether you serve these hot out of the oven or cold on a road trip your family will eat these up.

Hi Julie! These rolls sound and look delish!!! Can you prepare them the day before and keep covered in the fridge and bake the next day, or will they raise to much in the fridge?
Julie says
Hi Betty! I haven't tried that before, but I think it should be just fine to make them the day before. I would love to hear what you think of them. Thanks for stopping by.

What a great appetizer these would be for parties! I bet they'd go in a flash...they look really good! I plan on trying them soon! Thanks for sharing them with us at #FoodieFriDIY...sending some foodie love your way and I'll be sharing them on my Facebook page tomorrow.
Mom says
How long I'll they keep not refrigerated?
Julie says
With the cheese I wouldn't leave them out for more than 4 or 5 hours. If you leave the cheese out they can last for days without refrigeration. Jert!
