If you ever watch late night tv you have seen infomercials for all the magic cleaning tools. They promise to make your life easier and give you more time by instantly cleaning your home. They have the spin mop, the clean reach, even the baseboard buddy that allows you to clean your baseboards without bending. So many of these cleaning tools don't deliver the cleaning they promise.
You start to wonder if any cleaning tools beyond a sponge and some soap are really worth it. I admit I love to try new cleaning tools, even the as seen on tv cleaning tools. Over the years I have tried (and thrown out) plenty of cleaning tools. Some weird tools are just junk, but some really are worth a try. Below are a few of my favorite weird cleaning tools that really work.
Chain Mail
I was so skeptical when my husband bought me some chain mail for Christmas. I thought it was just going to be another cleaning tool I don't really use. It turns out chain mail does a great job of cleaning my cast iron. I amazed at how quickly it cleans it. I have also used the chain mail on my pizza stone and on the oven door.
Dryer Lint Eater
I bought a dryer lint eater about 7 years ago and I am in love! I am amazed at how much lint it removes from my dryer. Not only does it help prevent dryer fires, but it also helps my clothes dry faster. If you haven't recently cleaned your dryer vent I highly recommend you do so. You can find lots of tools on Amazon for doing so, but the lint eater really does do a great job.
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
A sponge that is "magic"? Sounds too good to be true right? If you have tried the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers you know how awesome they really are. They clean everything from tubs to tennis shoes. They are a little on the pricey side but I have had great luck ordering them from Amazon.
Reusable Lint Remover
If you have pets you know pet hair can be a major problem. Lint removers can be bought at the dollar store, but it is a pain to constantly deal with the trash from the lint remover. These sticky reusable lint removers are awesome and will save you cash over time. Plus you don't have to deal with all the trash from the peel off lint removers. They really are worth a little more money upfront.
Scrub Daddy
I first saw these cool little sponges on Shark Tank. They are like a soft sponge in warm water and turn hard in the cold water. So while you are cleaning your dishes you can change the strength of the sponge just by changing water temperature. They are so cool! Amazon sells them, but I have found they are way less if you just buy them at the store.
Although most as seen on tv products are way too good to be true there are a few that are great at doing what they promise. What as seen on tv products have you tried that work?
