Getting Started With A Weekly Cleaning Schedule
If you are just getting started with a cleaning schedule there are a few things to keep in mind.
First off, your house may never be perfectly spotless. There will be days that the house may feel messy.
However, with this weekly cleaning schedule printable you will never have to spend the whole day cleaning again. It's easy to just complete the cleaning tasks and get on with your day.
Secondly, it is very important to set up a routine. That is what I love about having a weekly cleaning checklist. I know my bathroom can only get so messy in a week.
If you are deep cleaning your rooms once a week the cleaning time won't get overwhelming.
Also, know the right cleaning tips and tricks to get it clean the first time. You can search for cleaning tips and see them broken out room by room here. I have a ton of kitchen and bathroom cleaning tips to make your life easier.
What The Weekly Cleaning Schedule Looks Like
What does cleaning with the weekly schedule look like? It's pretty easy to follow.
First thing every day I would recommend doing your 5 things you can do every day for a cleaner home. They will only take about 15 minutes.
Then, get started on your weekly cleaning schedule. The following is just an example.
Monday
- Clean bathroom sinks & handles
- Clean shower & bathtub
- Clean & disinfect toilet
- Wash towels
- Mop bathroom floor
Tuesday
- Clean and disinfect kitchen counters
- Clean sink (see how to clean and disinfect kitchen sinks)
- Clean and organize fridge
- Sweep and mop kitchen floor
Plus, then you can add in your own weekly cleaning that needs to happen. So if your oven is extra dirty you can add in deep cleaning your oven.

Tips For Weekend Cleaning
On the weekend I don't really do a lot of deep cleaning. I just try to maintain a decently clean home.
For me, I clean up the kitchen, wipe down bathrooms, make my bed, sweep downstairs, and sometimes run a load of laundry.
If you don't know where to start for daily cleaning you can read about 5 things you can do every day for a cleaner home.
By doing these 5 tasks I feel like my home stays picked up. I never feel like my house gets out of control or too messy.
I recommend you have a short list of household tasks to do every weekend.

The time spent cleaning your home will vary based on the size of your house and how easy it is to clean. On average I spend about 30 minutes a day on deep cleaning tasks like the kitchen or bathroom.
No worries! That's the beauty of this 7-day cleaning schedule system. If you don't deep clean the bedroom for one week it's not a big deal. The rest of the house will still stay clean even if you miss a day.
