I love being outside and working in the yard and garden. However, I hate trying to scrub all the dirt and grime from my hands.

This lavender gardener scrub will help remove dead skin, dirt, and more from your hands. Plus you will love how soft it leaves your skin.

Homemade Salt Scrub

This homemade salt scrub uses all-natural ingredients and is easy to make. You can use it on your hands and body for a quick way to get softer skin. Plus it costs less than a dollar to make so is way cheaper than store-bought scrubs.

The lavender gardener's scrub is so simple to make. I just keep it in a small jar in my bathroom for when my hands need a little more than just some soap and water. It gets them clean and makes them soft for days after using it.

Ingredients Needed

To make the homemade salt scrub you will need a few ingredients. You probably have almost everything you need at home.

  • Salt (just regular table salt)
  • Baking Soda
  • Olive Oil (or coconut oil)
  • Lavender Essential Oil

Step By Step Instructions For Making The Scrub

Step 1: Start by measuring 5 tablespoons of salt and 5 tablespoons of baking soda and add to a bowl.

Step 2: Next, add 5 tablespoons of olive oil to the bowl. If you would prefer you can use coconut oil or a sweet almond oil.

Step 3: Stir until all of the salt and baking soda are mixed with the olive oil.

Step 4: When everything is mixed, add 5-10 drops of lavender essential oils.

Step 5: Stir everything again to fully mix in the lavender essential oils.

Tips For Using The Scrub Effectively

To store the scrub you want to make sure it retains its moisture so make sure to store in an airtight container.

I love these small canning jars for storing the scrub, they are the perfect size. I just scoop out a small amount when I need some.

I have found it works great to keep in the bathroom so I can use it whenever my hands get dry or put it in the shower to use on my elbows, knees, and even the whole body.

To use just grab a small scoop with your fingers and apply in a circular motion.

Benefits Of Using A Homemade Salt Scrub

By using this homemade salt scrub you can get rid of dirt and grime from working out in the garden.

You will also get softer skin wherever you use it. Plus, by getting rid of the dead skin cells your lotions will absorb easily into your skin making it even softer.

My hands get clean and soft and I don't have to spend a bunch of money. If you don't like the smell of lavender you can try a different essential oil. You can try lemon, peppermint, or your favorite essential oil.
