I love being outside and working in the yard and garden. However, I hate trying to scrub all the dirt and grime from my hands. I have used the Crabtree & Evelyn Gardener's Scrub before and loved how it worked. Unfortunately, I don't love the price, so I love this frugal recipe.
The lavender gardener's scrub is so simple to make. I just keep it in a small jar in my bathroom for when my hands need a little more than just some soap and water. It gets them clean and makes them soft for days after using it.
You will need salt, baking soda, olive oil, and some lavender essential oils. Start by adding 5 tablespoons of salt and baking soda in a bowl.
Add in 5 tablespoons of olive oil to the bowl and stir well. When it is mixed, add 5-10 drops of lavender essential oils.
Store in an airtight container. I love these small canning jars for storing the scrub, they are the perfect size. I just scoop out a small amount when I need some.
My hands get clean and soft and I don't have to spend a bunch of money. If you don't like the smell of lavender you can try a different essential oil. What tricks do you have for getting your hands clean from gardening?
