Want a better way to clean the bathroom? Work through your bathroom cleaning in minutes with these AMAZING tips on how to speed clean a bathroom.
Recently I asked on Facebook what room you all hate cleaning the most. It was overwhelming the bathroom.
I totally get it. It's not a lot of fun to clean a toilet. Especially if you are dealing with young kids or boys of nearly any age.
I used to dread cleaning the bathroom. I would put it off for days longer than I needed to.
Since you really can't spend your life avoiding cleaning the bathroom I recommend instead to speed clean a bathroom.
Just get in and knock that chore off your to-do list. I recommend speed cleaning a bathroom once a week to keep this an easy and quick job.
Check out my favorite tips below on the fastest way to clean a bathroom.
Speed Clean A Bathroom
Start by keeping all your supplies in one spot. I have found that if I can just grab my gear and go I can save a few minutes.
Keep the cleaning supplies that you need in a little caddy to quickly grab it and move from bathroom to bathroom.
In the cleaning caddy I recommend you have:
- microfiber cloths/paper towels ( I love this brand of microfiber cloths)
- glass cleaner (I make my own homemade glass cleaner)
- toilet cleaner
- sink & shower cleaner (this is an easy-to-make all-purpose spray)
- magic eraser
Getting Started
Once you have grabbed your cleaning caddy you can spray some toilet cleaner in the toilet to soak. If you start by adding the toilet cleaner it can soak for a few minutes before you clean it.
Tackling the Mirrors and Sinks
Then spray down the mirrors with a glass cleaner and wipe them down with a microfiber cloth. I love using this homemade glass cleaner recipe that you can find here. It works great and doesn't have all the nasty chemicals that Windex does.
After cleaning the mirrors start tackling the sinks. Spray down the sinks with a disinfecting spray to kill off any germs.
I either use an all-purpose spray or just use a lemon/vinegar mixture for cleaning the bathroom. It's a mild cleaner with a great scent. Once you spray the sinks use a microfiber cloth to wipe them off.

Move On To The Shower/Bath
Then, work your way over to the shower/bath and give them a good spray down with the disinfecting spray.
Wipe them down with a microfiber cloth and if needed do a little scrubbing with a magic eraser.
I recently bought this OXO scrubber and it is a lifesaver on my back to clean the showers and baths.
I usually run the magic eraser on the shower floor and around the tub to get any buildup or hard water forming.
Finish With The Toilets
Finally, go back and clean the toilets. Scrub down the bowl with a scrubber and flush. Because I think it's gross to keep the toilet scrubber in the caddy I use a hook and have them hooked on the side of each of the toilets.
I love these rubber toilet brushes. I have been using the same ones for the last 6-7 years and it has held up great!
Once you have scrubbed down the bowl spray the lid and rim of the toilet with the disinfectant and wipe it down.
I like to use paper towels for the toilet since they are a little bit dirtier. You can also use a microfiber cloth if you prefer.
That's it, you are done! It's so easy to speed clean a bathroom!
It only takes about 10 minutes for me to tackle our big bathroom using this method and even less for our smaller bathrooms. I can get all three bathrooms cleaned in under 20 minutes.

I like your suggestions on how to clean. I'm a retired professional house cleaner and we have a lot in common. I make my own cleaning solution for the showers and sinks myself. You can use it daily between washings, too. Just spray & go!
